At the time, I was just about to finish writing the first draft of my book on glyphosate (Toxic Legacy: How the weedkiller glyphosate is destroying our health and the environment). I had written all about how glyphosate specifically disrupts proteins that bind phosphate. With a little digging into the research literature on deuterium management in the body, it became clear that a whole class of proteins that bind phosphate called flavoproteins plays an essential role in protecting the mitochondria from excessive deuterium in their water. Flavoproteins catalyze many reactions that extract hydrogen atoms from one molecule and add them to another one. They have an elegantly designed active site that takes advantage of a physical property of protons called proton tunneling to assure that protons rather than deuterons are delivered to make the reaction product. Ultimately, these \u201chigh quality protons\u201d are delivered to the mitochondrial intermembrane space. One flavoprotein that is very important to the mitochondria and shown to be disrupted by glyphosate in multiple studies is succinate dehydrogenase. It is the only enzyme that plays a role in both oxidative phosphorylation and the citric acid cycle in the mitochondria. This enzyme extracts two hydrogen atoms from succinate and adds them to ubiquinone (coenzyme Q10), to make ubiquinol, an essential antioxidant in the mitochondria.

Glyphosate is a broad spectrum chelator, a nonselective herbicide, an extremely effective antimicrobial agent, a synthetic amino acid, an endocrine disruptor and a probable carcinogen. The world has never experienced such a multi-pronged compound used liberally and indiscriminately. In my opinion, the history books someday could well state that “glyphosate is the most chronically toxic compound ever indiscriminately released into the environment”.
The substance glyphosate was initially discovered in 1950 by a Swiss chemist, Henri Martin, at the pharmaceutical company Cilag. At that stage the product had no known pharmaceutical purpose. In 1964 Stauffer Chemical Company discovered the chelating capabilities of glyphosate and it was developed and utilized as a descaling agent for boiler systems and steam pipes. Although Stauffer screened glyphosate as an herbicide, it was passed over because it did not meet their functional period of time. It was not until the early 1970s that glyphosate was discovered/developed by Monsanto scientists to have herbicidal activity.

REBEL Magazine for her.
The magazine only got 8 issues distributed before it was sabotaged… but
Mae Brussell began her confident, triumphant crusade to expose Nazi

Loftus became friends with Mae Brussell and I eventually met John with
my lawyer, Deb Aaron, in Toronto a few years later.
If you read his Wiki entry
you will see Loftus did not have a comfortable life after that encounter with Mike Wallace of 60 MINUTES fame.
Neither did Mae Brussell, who would die 6 years later, on Oct.3, 1988.
Frank Zappa met Larry Flynt in September, 1983, and witnessed all these
events around REBEL Magazine that Fall… and eventually met Mae in 1985,
thanks to me, and got the information from her that would give Frank the
confidence to “nail" the Senators at the Rock-Porno Hearings on
Sept.19, 1985.
NOTE: To illustrate how “it’s all connected”, Frank Zappa’s young mistress, Nigey Lennon (see her autobiography, “BEING FRANK” [1995]), became an editor for those 8 issues of REBEL Magazine in Los Angeles.
Frank subsequently made a recording of those Hearings which got a lot of airplay (“Porn Wars” on the “FRANK ZAPPA MEETS THE MOTHERS OF PREVENTION” CD by Zappa about the Rock Lyric Hearings in Washington).

I read "Animal Farm" when I still lived in Austria at a summer camp I attended to improve my English speaking skills. The teacher was a young Brit, who taught English and history, hence was able to explain his love for the book.
Finally, now I put all pieces of the puzzle together. Andrea Chalupa describes how "Animal Farm" was discovered and distributed by Ukranian refugees, people who had firsthand knowledge of Stalin's deeds.
"... In Munich, 1947, a group of Ukrainian refugees at a small press called Prometej—or Prometheus—printed 5,000 copies of a Ukrainian translation of Animal Farm..."
Indeed, at the time, criticizing Stalin isn't popular, after all, he helped win the war. Though the printed books are being discovered and confiscated "... about 2,000 copies had already been distributed. These books traveled with Ukrainian refugees as they immigrated to America, Canada, South America, Australia, and the other parts of the world that welcomed those displaced by World War II..."
I had no idea that this is how it happened.
It is comforting to know that for once "the system worked." People who not only treasured but needed this book, learned that somebody, George Orwell, knew what happened to them and created a book that would help others to to understand what happened and how it happened. The Ukrainians were able to start their own revolution and in a way pay back Stalin by spreading Orwell's book and making him the icon he is today.
This part of history still matters. Late January 2017, Orwell's 1984 became a bestseller again. Had it not been for "Animal Farm's" success he might have never written "1984," especially considering that his health was always poor.

--------------------------------- September 20, 2017 Immediately after the end of the Second World War in Europe and before the start of the Cold War between the Soviet block and the Allies, there was a period of cooperation. The allied forces led by the Americans were willing to do what Soviet leader Joseph Stalin wanted, that included the transfer of people originally from the Soviet Union that ended up in other European nations. A large block of Ukrainians were in Allied held territory and Stalin wanted them back. Due to the deliberate famine in Ukraine in the 1930’s many of them were strongly anti-Soviet and some had even fought on the side of the Germans. Eager to please Stalin, the Allied forces agreed to send many of them back. Yet, some managed through many means to remain in western Europe and they developed a vibrant culture based on their Ukrainian heritage. While many western intellectuals believed in the Soviet propaganda that everything was great in the Soviet Union, George Orwell was one that knew better. Orwell had traveled to Spain to fight fascism and joined the POUM faction. After being wounded, he witnessed the labeling of the POUM as a Trotskyist group and he barely escaped. His experiences in Spain had a lot to do with his writing of his classic political satire, “Animal Farm,” a thinly disguised criticism of the Soviet regime. When the book was published shortly after the end of the Second World War in Europe, it was not well received and the Allied forces suppressed it as anti-Soviet. However, it was a big hit among the Ukrainian expatriate people. In this book, a great deal of this background material regarding Orwell, his development of “Animal Farm” and the development of the Ukrainian culture outside of the borders of what became the Ukrainian SSR is explained. It is an amazing and extremely informative book, describing a set of events that are a dark stain on the actions of the Allies in their cooperation with Stalin. I strongly recommend it as reading in history courses that delve deeply into the immediate aftermath of the Second World War in Europe and how Stalin played the Allies for his own purposes.

The intro and background took a little longer than I planned, but it is an important backdrop to my main story, which is purely an entertainment piece with a heartwarming and positive message, inspired by true events. Behold.
A few days ago a ran into a miracle of wit, intelligence and investigative skills - the Journalissimus Maximus. He goes by various names, all mysterious and shaken not stirred if you know what I mean. Wink. Another wink. Greg Webbs, aka Grigorios Webbsopoulos, aka Grisha Webbsterskiy, aka Goga Webbonishvili, aka Gershon Webbsberger to name a few aliases. He is a prominent figure in the “fweedom” movement, has a powerful online presence of nearly 100K followers and receives enthusiastic engagement on his posts of 2-4 comments and likes each. Sometimes it is even 10 likes! He loves doing X spaces, and Rumble sessions with a member of the British royal family (I forget if it’s York or Edinborough? Nevermind). He is a true hard-hitting journalismo: he flies to hot locations all over the country, stands in front of office buildings and parking lots and bravely records selfie videos from right where it happens. I have never seen him interviewing anyone on any topic though. Some really big experts and influencers take him seriously.
He is a vaccine injured, too (for which I am very sympathetic). He took it in order to travel to the outside of office buildings and parking lots, and for the sake of humanity. Was vaccination ever really required for travel? No, of course not. Goga’s investigation skills did not quite enable him to figure that one out in time. Also, he is the ladies man! Loyal sidekicks include low-status-girlfriend-Kate, warrior-paint-Connie, Frau-Bubblegum, pedoLiz and Trisha-USA, all faithful attack dogs at agent W’s beck and call. He must have taken classes on masculine charm from the Tate bros.
The great Journalissimo Investigatore blew my cover, folks. He found out that I worked in pharma R&D and also with Pfizer for many years, and in cardiovascular safety trials (which is deep and dark place y’all) - those are all facts I was desperate to conceal by listing them on my LinkedIn profile and in nearly every interview.
